Can a website post your drivers license number online for all to see?
We recently tried to adopt a dog from an animal rescue. After a couple days with the new dog we realized he was not what the rescue had said he was. Our vet told us he was not fixed (which the rescue signed papers that he was) and he was not crate trained (We went through 2 creates because he bent the metal bars on one and bit through a hard plastic one). With much heartache we decided to return the dog to the rescue because he was destroying our home and was going to cost is much more money than we have. We have a rescued Dalmatian for 7 years now and we are dog lovers so this really hurt. The animal rescue told us when we returned the dog that they were still going to cash the check we had given them for $500, I asked them to please reconsider and after a rude response I took it into my own hands and had a stop payment put on the check so they could not cash. 2 months later we found that the rescue has put our name, home address and drivers license on their web site for the world to see. Of course they only tell half the story that we had to return the dog and put a payment stop on the check. I want to know if this is legal or not, our home address and drivers llicense posted on their site? With identity theft these days it is really scary. Please Help....
