Kenmore side by side refrigerator that appears to work fine except that water leaks from the bottom of freezer

There is also a layer of ice behind the ice maker and at the bottom of the freezer. If the drain is clogged, How do you defrost a freezer that should do it automatically? Will the fridge need to be emptied too?
