Does your site navigation count as "duplicate content" for SEO?

I'm in the process of designing a site with a fairly sophisticated spry navigation menu that should have the capability of getting a visitor to most pages of the site from any page they are viewing..the navigation menu will serve as a standard for any content I add to the site. Is this going to hurt me as far as SEO is concerned?
