My nikon wont take pictures?

I have a D31000 Nikon and I tried to take a self picture by putting it on my tripod hitting the set timer and running to get in place. When it takes it its all blur. I tried moving it closer and back. I had it on auto,Kids,Portrait,guide mode but none of them help...Please help =[
