What do black authors say about Mark Twain?

I think any author, black, white or any other color who is intelligent and well read identifies Mark Twain for the genius that he truly was. I must say this. I am currently ghostwriting two books - one of them if for a black women. She is three chapters into her story and has used the N word about 5 times. So what does that make her? Should her book be banned? Why do people not object when people like Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Maya Angelou, Fifty Cent et al use that word but they jump on Mark Twain for it and forget the fact that the man was pure genius? In my humble opinion, it became just another word in the English language when people like Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy laced their comedy routines with it. If it was cool for people to hear them say it and laugh, what is the problem with Mark Twain using it in the context of how people spoke at the end of the 19th century? Makes no sense to me. Pax-C
